Community Relations Liaison Committee

The Point Lepreau Generating Station (PLGS) has an active Community Relations Liaison Committee, which has been in place for many years. The committee is a formal mechanism which interacts with, and receives information and public concerns from community members relating to the operation of the Point Lepreau Generating Station. Kathleen Duguay, Public Affairs Manager for PLGS, is the Committee Chair and has developed a close working relationship with the community members.

Kathleen Duguay

Being involved with Community Relations allows me to better understand the community we operate in, and I feel very proud to be a part of it. These individuals see the success of the refurbishment as a success for their community. In their eyes, PLGS is a valuable part of their community, neighbourhood and family.

- Kathleen Duguay,
Public Affairs Manager for the Point Lepreau Generating Station

The committee consists of about 10 community leaders who meet with Ms. Duguay and other NB Power Power employees on a quarterly basis. The group was established approximately ten years ago and has served to build pride and trust in the people who live and work near PLGS. Members represent the communities of Prince of Wales, Musquash, Chance Harbour, Dipper Harbour, Maces Bay, Little Lepreau, Lepreau, New River, Pocologan, and Pennfield.
